  2. To the inn Joseph came for lodging,
At the sight of the fire he smiled,
They had travelled through the desert
    Were cold and weary
And Mary was great with child.

    There was no room,
    There was no room,
    No room in Bethlehem.

Like the inn, long ago, were many people,
Overcrowded with no room to spare.
They are full of their own dreams
    And doings
    And Jesus can't enter there.

    Oh there's no room,
    No room for Christ,
Though He knocks, they turn Him away.

Oh friend, are you listening may I ask you?
Have you room for Jesus today?
Have you room for Jesus today?

This was how I'd learned it, I've only heard the cantata once...40 years ago.

Hope this helps, we have included this in our church's collection of carols and Christmas songs. We practically sing this every Christmas.
